Iggy Pop
Oh it's been some time, since my last post here.
But i read this forum a lot.
Here is a sculpting of Iggy Pop.
I hope you like it.
It was fun and challenging to sculpt him.
I've also captured the first part of the schulpting session.
Need some time to upload to vimeo.

Some Fixes
Hi i did some fixes to the proportions, needed to stay away from it a while, and testing arnold render for the skin.
Every bit of critique is welcome.
And a happy new year to all.

Incredible likeness. Though considering how specific his face looks like it is probably hard to confuse him with someone else.
Overall very good job. Not sure about his real hair but you might add some stray hairs to make a haircut look less CG'ish (right now it looks too even and parallel)

You are right, i need to add more dynamic into the hair.
Will redo them with smaller strands as fibermesh.

A littlebit more progress. Any critique or suggestion is helpful
to finalize him soon.
Right now i am unshure about the background but i am thinking
about just a plain canvas with a littlebit of grain and gradient.
The final will be rendered
without the arnold watermarks.

Here is the final Render ... i hope you like it.
Learned a lot about Arnold and Sculpting Likeness ...
and lot of lessons to take some time and to refresh the eye.

Great update. The likeness is striking! In terms of the shader I would say that some brighter and crisper spec will make a skin even more believable by accentuating micro-details like wrinkles or pores. But personally I have a tendency to make skin more wet and shiny so don't listen to me :)
How long does it take to sculpt something like this? I always suck at likeness.
And you made a good point about proper rest for the eyes. I remember working 12-14 hours per day and close to the night I was like "What the hell am I looking at".
So congrats with a nice render and hope to see more stuff from you.

There is always room for improvement and i think that i will work on some parts on this model from time to time.
I am trying to push myself further. As you know the 80% of work is easy ... the hardest parts are the remaining 20% ...
Thats my goal for this year. Better anatomy knowledge and push every work at least beyond 90%.
I hope that it is possible.
The sculpt, that gives me a shiver when i look at it now, was done in 2-3 Evenings and after some days
of until Christmas and new year i looked at him and was thinking "what the hell is it? ... thats not Iggy!"
I've realised that i got completely blind while working on him. So the days of refreshed my view and
i decided to overwork him. As you can see in the progress ... this second sculpt was done
in one evening ... there i also realised that he better than the fist but also is off in areas.
It made click, as i used reverences that i flipped ... i also flipped the model while sculpting.
That refreshed the eye instantly. If you adapt ... flip again ... also flip the reference images.
This helped me a lot. I also asked a question in the facebook Zbrush group, because flipping
the model in Zbrush was time consuming ... Delete lower subdivs, mirror model and then
reconstruct subdivs ... As answer Fran Picazo said "Let me do something about this." ...
and he did a fantastic Mirror script for this.

With this process it took again one evening to the final sculpt.
I complete it need around 1 1/2 weeks of evenings with Hair, learning Arnold Render and testing out some things.
