I've put a paid project on the back burner while I patiently await this release. It's not that I can't do the project with my current tools, it's that budget for the project isn't sufficient enough for me to sit around designing it with old school poly modeling methods.
While the current tools are great for hard-surface work, the techniques don't always equal production friendly models. I find I have to work with a certain amount of poly's to get a good result, a number that sometimes exceeds that of where I want to be. 4R7 should eliminate this problem. At least from what I'm seeing.
So please pixologic, with the deepest amount of respect for what you do and how long coding such a masterpiece takes, at least give us a ballpark estimate as to when you plan to release. 2 weeks? 2 months?
It felt like a release was imminent in August, when you demoed this shiz. Almost 4 months later, I'm bored of looking at this cluster f of a thread to learn once again, it's not been released.
I understand your situation and I also want it, but in the past they sent e-mails that give download instructions etc.
I am pretty shure things will be the same this time.
From 32 to 64 bit is not exactly programming for newbies. We all want as little problems as possible, and that is where they are working on.
jajaja,the gem is coming soon......!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
so calm and relax! all the updates since 2001 are preceded with the same situations, projects that need the new version,etc...,desesperate people and so on....
lets they work....and still are29 days before "at the end" of the year.
Remember the gem take its own time:D:D
No no guys....why you are talking about 'the end of the year ' Pixologic said this Fall...this is different !!! Hahaha you are joking...my xmas is at maximum on 21/12 and not on 31/12!!!!or not!? Anything is changed?
In 2014, winter begins on December 21, 6:03 P.M. EST.
I don't want to burst any bubbles but Pixo has missed previously announced release dates many times in the past, sometimes by several months. It will come when it will come.
Truth be told... :)
"I don't want to burst"but burst and burst:D:D you dont want to open but.....you open! jajajaj stay calm and relax is the better way to wait the gem!
Na na na.....:D Impossible!! My pixo dont miss nothing!! If they said this Fall is this Fall. Sure...
Just in case I missed it and so I don't kick myself later for not asking.
Has anyone seen any tech specs on 4R7 and the version of Keyshot planning on being used?
Specifically any recommended computer hardware requirements and if a internet connection will be required to run any part of zBrush after upgrade.
Holding off on purchasing a new laptop so I don't end up making a bad hardware investment.

the question has been asked and answered. refer to post #715 on page 48 of this thread. aurick himself speaks on whats important as far as specs go. long story short, have a good processor. and ram never hurts to have either.
edit: as far as internet goes, i dont think it will be neccesary. but i havent seen anyone comment on that.
Internet isn't required unless you want to active Zbrush Online. Highly recommended because it is a super fast process.
Totally subjective opinion of mine: CPU is priority: at least i5 equivalent but i7 is more future-proof. RAM at least 8G. Cooling/ventilation very very very important.Quote:

GPU less important but stay futureproof and get at least a GTX580 grade of any brand, just in case other hybrid or GPU-only render plugins become available.
Seems we've been looking at these images for months now since the first announcement
