SPRING is here..Time for life to start anew..:)
Title...MAGIC
CHEERS
Aaaah, Spring... The best time of the year. Cleaning the house and the brains. Enjoying the first sun and feel the energy of nature (what's left of it). My dog and two cats are changing their coat. I am busy to make dry-flies to catch the awaking trouts. One month ago I painted the highest part of my house where the swallow nests are, the smell of the paint is gone when they come. I can't wait to see those wonderfull birds painting words in the sky.
I wish you a lot of springtime! Cheers!
HEY Bas..Right back at you.:) HAPPY SPRING Bas, and LOTS OF IT.:) :tu:
The old pair of Osprey/fishing hawks arrived back at their nest yesterday in the salt water marsh behind my house..Just like a fine tuned clock of nature..they know when it's SPRING and once again TIME to raise some new chicks and start life anew..:) and that's how I knew it was for sure SPRING..Seems like it's a long time coming anymore, so when it gets here, it is for sure a welcomed and much appreceated gift and treat.. :) :tu:
CHEERS
Some more work done on this character this morning.
View of the salt water marsh behind my house, where every year a pair of Osprey/fishing hawks have and rear their young.
I sit out there for hours sometimes, just to watch them come and go as they catch fish and bring it back, tear it into small pieses, and then go up into the nest to feed the young. As the young get older, they teach them how to hunt, and by the time fall arrives, they are on their own, and the cycle is complete, until they arrive back in the next SPRING, WHEN IT ALL BEGINS ..ANEW.:)

Great surrealistic spring pieces :)
I have a lot of season related feelings too, it's just great how big influence nature has over ones mood :)
I think that latest image would be better without the 3d model of the man in the foreground, especially with that drop shadow. Don't put drop shadows that are flat like that, it is Photoshoppy. It makes it look like a picture in front of a picture. But the background is very dreamy and nice, I like it! :tu:
THANKS Santis..In your neck of the woods, I bet Spring is even more appreceated and welcomed than it is in my neck of the woods..Long winters over your way I imagine..makes spring even more precious..Glad that you like the surrealism..Just dreaming out loud..:)
THANKS Eric..The great thing about digital art, is the ability to make and keep many versions of a piece...If you've ever sold any works, then you know how important that fact is..One person will love something in the piece, and another person will hate that same something in the piece, so it's always good to have different versions that they can choose from...At least that is what i've found to be true while selling my works over the years.
Surrealism appeals to different people for different reasons..reasoning usually not being one of the reasons.
CHEERS :)
I must say I dont like the way you are presenting your works. Personally I find it too saturated, and the compositions I dont really like. Have you tried learning a 3d package and do some of this with a renderer like mental ray? Right now it just looks very "cut'n'paste photoshop here we go out of the door" kinda way. unfinished is the word that springs to my mind.
thats just my opinion.

Glenn, I really like the painting you did here:

That has integrity, it stands on its own. I would love to see more like that. It doesn't even need any 3D element, it just works. :tu:
In fact, I would even go so far as to say it has a Van Gogh quality, as unique as his work.

Thanks Eric..:) I sold that one..Link is right above...It now rest in the home of a guy living in New Mexico..It printed up nice,.I had it printed poster size on Giclee canvas..It was done using the Corel Painter program....
I also sold most of the other pieces that I painted..bright colors and all..some people just love and enjoy bright colors hanging on their walls.
I've also had, and do have alot of luck selling the tiles, prints and little boxes with my images printed and inlaid on their covers, tote bags ect.
That little one posted in this sketchbook very recently of the woman laying on the rainbow has made me alot of money, and still does, and is hanging on peoples walls all over the planet, along with alot of my other works, recent and older, thanks to the internet, and the new way of selling art.
That's why I just have to laugh to myself when people start tearing apart my works, compositions and and style of sculpting and painting..like Kskovbo the guy who said what he said above..pretty rude and very unprofessional I think, but that's just my opinion,.. and alot of other people on this forum before him in this Sketchbook thread.
I enjoy what i'm doing, I don't have to kowtow to anyone, or allow myself to be led around like a bull with a ring in his nose. I'm my own man, and free to explore and express my own visions, in my own way.
I'm still selling copies of works that I did years ago, and also my current works, 3d ones, and combo's included...I know what will sell and what will not sell when it comes to my work..comes from alot of years of creating it, selling it, and building up a following that likes it enough to purchase it.
Anyway, thanks for posting the link to that painting of mine,..I haven't seen it in awhile..Still looks good to me..and still is a part of me, even though it is hanging on someone elses wall..:)
TAKE CARE Eric..:tu: :)
