That's awesome! Really looks like you're putting different colored clays and laying them on top of each other...looks really fun to do too, i have to try it out sometime :)

Yes, thank you, thank you, thank you!! This is better than I would have imagined! :D You guys really have revolutionized working with 3d modeling, and CG art in general!
Thank you for being a commerical company that actually makes a worthwhile update. I've been seeing way too many product upgrade versions that have 2 new "ok" features and ask for another $200+ from...
Thanks a lot lemonnado! That's exactly what I wanted to know about. I even tried it out myself in Zbrush..it's really easy to do :)
Thanks for the answer :)
I got one more question though..how did you make the last render pass in the row? (the 4th from the left in the 1st image, 3rd from the left in the 2nd) What material, etc...
Hi, this is a nice tutorial!
I have a newb question: In the first three environment images, how do you do those different render passes in Zbrush? Or did you render them elsewhere? If you do them...
Well, it's kind of hard to say what exactly you're doing wrong and such without knowing more.
Make sure it's a Tangent space normal map from zbrush that you generated. And post here shots of your...
Yeah that's the problem I encountered when I tried it Cyjal..so we may just have to wait until Blender supports the higher bit images to get good results with displacement.
Glad you guys find it usefull :)
I will try to update it too, when I get free time. But if anyone else wants to add to it feel free! I'd really like to get a displacement map, and cavity maps...
Finally a head rendered in Zbrush! I didn't see too many of those in the featured gallery.
Great job :)
Figured I should post this here:
http://www.zbrush.info/site/index.php/Zbrush_to_Blender_Guide
I started to make a wiki guide for Blender & Zbrush users. It mainly goes over how to import &...
He looks awesome! Although I wish the glass was a bit clearer to see his eyes more. And yes, how did you render it?
I think you really should try a better material, and maybe use a different color for the background too. Right now it's way too contrasty and black-metallicish.
Can't help you with the first 2 q's..but the last, I like the color he is now, blends in nice with the background pic you put there. Just looks good in that color.
Interesting style, I like it, but I think the face is too hard to read, it's a bit too exaggerated. I'd make it less wide, and maybe put in some more space between the eyes/nose/mouth.
Angelstein, thanks, I checked those files out, really great light setup with the shadows and all. I hope to learn more from it :)
Bimm, yes he has tatoos, but not on his face. He does have them on...
Finally fixed this up some more. I changed how he looked a bit, because I felt it wasn't quite how Haplo should look.
But now I did finally get his appearance down well, and I'm very happy with it...
I like the detailing on the arms/uppershoulders, but the face still needs work.
Wow awesome..it really does look like clay!
Looks really good! Why would you need to render it outside of Zbrush? I think it looks fine.
Sounds awesome! Can't wait to try it :)
If Zbrush ever supports painting on photoshop file layers then I'll die happy :p
Thanks for the response :)
I don't think there's anything wrong with the muscle structures..at least, I can't see it.
But you're right about the skin tones..now that I'm looking at it it does...
I really hate to ask again, but I'd really appreciate a critique...can someone give me some advice and critique this for me? Thanks!
This is the 2nd character portrait I finished in Zbrush. His name is Haplo, from the Death Gate Cycle books by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman. It's a great series that I highly recommend.
Base...
Wow cool! I'd love to learn about how Zbrush was used on this movie.
