Hey nice. I was always looking to get more Gnomon videos, but the ridiculous shipping costs to Australia (more than several discs!) always put me off. Video streaming with no shipping? Yes please!

He looks like he's completely missing any muscles to make use of those nice chompers of his, which is a shame.
Here's a store that sells human head models, but I think we'll just look at the...
I think it's to do with a nasty zsphere seam on the original mesh. I'd pushed the polys around it until I think a few of them overlapped. If you look closely at the model on the right in the second...

Thanks for the tutorials Moochie, that taught me tons of stuff. I tried to make a repeating chainlink pattern... not quite a full success, but still got...
All the while I was thinking "Hmmm, maybe I could retopo Wile E. ..." so I went and did it. The priestess will never finish tending to her congregation at this rate.

A test layout. Very boring and undynamic, slipping into a coma already. *yawn* What I was trying to do this session was to make a base model for the petitioners, then use layers to give...
Hahah, very nice, though he looks a little underaged to be drinking, hm?
What's it rendered in? (If you say Zbrush I'm going to be very sad at my own inability)

And another doodle, though I dont think this one will go any further without a retopoing first.

Practice at making Zsphere and topology subtools. Unfortunately the girl's ended up with a ridiculous hat as a result. Sorry.
reflecteyes.jpg
I used the default ReflectedMap material as a base. Turned off spherised since I was using a spherical hdri image. Turned off the default spec, ambient and fixed the diffuse...

And a quick zdoodle for tonight. "Why does this keep happening to me?", he seems to be asking. :D
I could and probably will do that if I cant get it to work right as it is. It just means more work than if I'd been smarter about it at the start. Laziness bites me in the ass again, haha!

I am so regretting not seperating out the shoulderpiece into its own subtool right now. Hopefully that wont screw me over too badly when getting her into her posed position.
Excuse the head model, it's not really the main focus of the post.
After taking a look at Sebcesoir's work, I tried to duplicate his faked reflections in the eyes. A few hours poking at material...
Oh and I thought I was going to get a good night's sleep. Positively nightmarish stuff you have going on here. :D

Tidied up the head and added some hair at the edges, will probably rework it. Also detailed up the robe, leaving the shoulderpiece as the last big hurdle before colouring. yay!
Aside from mesh extraction, you can also create new topology to act as clothing.
Hey, very very nice! My only crit would be that the back of the head isnt as nicely defined as the front, looking a little blobby and soft compared to the face.

Think I'm just about done with the head sculpt. Just need to toss in some wisps of hair poking out over the forehead. Then onto the body!
You're going to love the layers capability that ZB3 has then. Sculpt all your detail on one layer, and pose the whole thing on a seperate layer, letting you work on both pose and sculpting (nearly)...
Thank you, it is turning out a little like Moebius-lite. :D
Last one for tonight, gotta get some sleep and more zbrush in the morning :) . Messed with the shaders, tweaked the fit of the face...
I always love your stuff Boozy. Are you going to give us a breakdown of how this was done?

Chipping away at head details. Wasnt too happy with the way the face was just flush with the headpiece, so I recessed it a little too.
Did you mean you're trying to smooth out those cracks in his lower neck? Usually I go down in the mesh resolution to smooth out major deformities like that, not up.
Well, after picking up the all pieces of my head that were left when it was exploded by Z3's awesome new tools, I'm trying out a new full model. It's only been half a day, but the progress makes me...
