What's the method you have used?
(I mean: imported a low-poly model, zspheres or you made it from a primitive shape?)
Welcome aboard! This is very good for your first model.
But... it's not an efficient methond to make a full character this way.
I recommend you to use the zspheres, make a basic shape, then...

For detailing the face you need to increase the SubD level (subdivision) and be carefull with the draw tool (about the size and the intensity you are using):

Seems you are moving fast. There are more ways to texture, i would recommend you to try the projection master and to project some details into your characters using some good...
