Captain Cthulhu!
The facial expressions look great! :tu: Good job.
Yah, sss shaders and global illumination often cause loss of detail. Remember kids, shadows make detail visible. :)
I have two words for ya:
"Kick" and "ass".
I think the jaw needs to be more massive. Otherwise it's really good. :tu:
Texturing, material and lighting are nice, but you should study muscle and bone structure from anatomy books and such. At the moment the structure looks really unconvincing. Especially in the area...
What material are you using for the head?
Well, you can evaluate my skills from some of the threads I've posted:
Uncle Naav's Doodle-thread
T-Rex Look-a-like
Balrog-inspired demon
Cave Troll WIP
Basic facial animation
The Elephant...
How do you guys usually model body armour? Do you model skin bits like the face and such separately from the armour, or do you make one single model with the armour and bare skin etc? Oh, and how do...
The octopus is really well modelled, but the material looks too much like wax. The SSS is too even. But great work, nonetheless.
Really nice work. For some reason the head reminds me of some Roman emperor.
Are you using tangent-space normal maps on the model, by any chance? I've had the same problem. It's going to be fixed in the next version, IIRC. You can use world-space normal maps, if you want....
Yesterday I started modelling a head in Silo (again). I was thinking of a man with a gasmask, but when I brought the low poly mesh to ZBrush, it turned out completely different.
The low-poly cage:...
Nice work, but I don't really see any Doom-like elements in it.
He's the newest pope, I presume.
For the past two days I've been playing around with custom HDR-images and lighting 3D-scenes with them. So far they've yielded quite good results, the only drawback is the long rendering time. Normal...
I was a bit unsure about the teeth colour, so I googled for some screengrabs from the Jurassic Park -movies. I tried to match the colours on the texture with the colours in the screen grabs, but the...
I've shown a bit of my dinosaur model in my doodling thread (click here). Today I downloaded ZAppLink and immediately started texturing. I also quickly rigged and posed the model (I apologise for the...
At last!
Uh, why two different threads for the same picture?
And the picture is nice to be a first one.
I'm currently working on a cthulhu-inspired tentacle monster. It's just a prototype, mind you.

Thank you. :)
Thanks.
Oh, and before anyone asks, it isn't a T-Rex (yeah, like anyone was interested in this thread). It's a figment'o'me'imagination-osaur. But sure, it's been influenced by T-Rex a lot. The...
Davy Jones reminds me of Captain LeChuck. :D
Here's something I've been doodling on since yesterday (completely ignoring my test week of course :P). Actually, the low-poly mesh was created almost a week ago. I used it to practice rigging. But...
