Oh yeah, love it.
@mealea, cgmystic, Pangea
Thank you for your kind words
Not in the mood for 3d artwork these days.
I hope I'll be back soon.
So true!!! So true.
Glad to be the first to comment your recently posted artwork.
Great post, by all means, my dear Julian. Simply great, as always expected from you.

ART
it's all about art here.
Beautiful posts!!!
The space between these legs… The surrounding background gives life to this figure.
The shape of the empty space, we're talking about serious sculpting !!
Marvelous and endless flow of shapes....
@paleo
that's beautiful!
Wonderful posts, :tu:
Almost missed them,
Question:
These bubbles have normals inwards or outwards?
Excellent sculpting,
and, that last one… simply a beautiful and hard to setup render !!!
Such renders may become pretty insane. I know it.
Obviously less pshoped than someone may expect. ...
Very well done!!!!!
Impressive artwork on this thread.
And, very nice cycles renders!
:tu:
Yes, the reference you used, I had a look before posting. Not a great image, caterpillars need some more SSS, small creatures eating all day you see.
If we're talking about cycles, this is true....
Lovely sculpting !
However, where is the SSS in cycles render?
You need a lot of it for caterpillars and plants.
(reference?)
Only elegance!!!
Coming from you.
@Doris
You always know how to carve wood. :tu:
You could post some side views, I have seen some and they look even better.
Now you're talking.
Amazing.
he he, very nice. Tuned on this last one. :tu:
I'm not. Actually I don't really care much about PostProcessing. Makes things a bit more presentable, that's all.
Very solid, this last one! :tu:
(a little less pshoppy smoke perhaps? The pattern is recognizable, it asks for a little more love)
Beautiful installation !
The kind of art I like.
There's maybe some misunderstanding. Cycles glass casts caustics alright. You just have to enable multiple importance on the light's...
@Mealea,
The problem with real caustics is the render times.
A scene full of caustics will become noisy, full of fireflies and will take a day or more to render.
BTW you can easily animate fake...
Interesting tutorials about lighting

It is for cycles but certainly can be applied to any physically correct renderer.
@megacal
Sorry, I don't see caustics on your posted examples. Only reflections.
Caustics are another animal.
Add a prism. (an extruded triangle). Add one only sun or other light. Expect to see...
For quite similar reasons I never liked symbolism and anatomy.
They both misleading in this art world.
In fact, if I like to, everything around can be expressed as the two more obvious symbols of...
My miss, sorry Mealea.
I meant select all In Edit Mode.

Why so complicated in cycles?
Cycles is...

Not sure what you're asking. However there're many ways to skin the cat.
Here's a trick (very fast render times though)
Basically a textured spot light. (procedural) ...
GoZ doesn't seem to export polygroups?
Anyway, obj export will work.

It depends now how you would like to use it.
It will import polygroups as separated objects, in place.
You could...
