Hey guys, been working on this one for the past couple of weeks. Really enjoying the new hard surface tools in R2!
This one was done with ZBrush, Modo via GoZ, and some final tweaks in photoshop....
Haven't had any time to do personal work for the last couple of years.. when you spend all day doing 3D at the office, you sometimes just want to stay away from the computer when you get home- but...
In that case, pixologic nees to get bought out by Autodesk, Skymatter was already good at putting out regular updates
Just kidding aurick, don't lock this thread! :p
Anyway, yeah...
The feet are way too small, they look like hooves. Her ears are incomplete, they look like maybe a rough sculpt that didn't get finished. The whole face is the same way.. has a very lumpy unfinished...
This forum needs some sort of auto-lock to prevent thread necrophelia :|
How is this thread not top row yet? Get up there! :D
Awesome edgeflow on that rhino.. very clean mesh :D
That all depends on how you feel about it. If you feel like it's cheating, why not whip up a quick basemesh just to show yourself that you can do it, then use your plugin or whatever to get the ball...
that's really cool :)
Looks pretty good so far, you might want to check on that back leg area though. The muscle is too defined at the moment, and it looks like a GI-Joe leg (popped in with a clearly visible seam). The...

Looks great, although I'd definitely soften that horizontal line through the face. It looks very unnatural, almost like the edge of an alpha that didn't have any falloff. But once that seam is gone...
The tool will never make an artist an artist. Z3 just came out so there's a lot of buzz around it, and people are eager to show off their stuff. Z3 certainly makes it easier to do things that were...
Ahhh, I remember gimbal lock waaay back in linear algebra. Shows you how much I paid attention :D
At any rate, you are right. What I ended up doing is flipping the mesh around so that it's Z-up,...
Yeah, I saw the original, but didn't get a chance to try it until after you'd updated it.
However, it does seem to have it's quirks.. For example, change the loop count from 5 to 36 (that way you...
marcus: thanks for the concise explanation.. that is much faster than what I was doing :)
Well, I'm actually writing a script.. so using another script isn't an option :)
Sven: I'd actually looked into that, but it transforms a memory block. How do you get the memory block of the...
So I'm trying to rotate a mesh at an exact angle, yet the only way I know to do this is with (Amount)]. This obviously only works on the selected subobject since it's a deformation, but I want the...
Preferences->Misc->Use ZFolders
Nice work, how'd you get the scales on the shirt to line up so nicely?
Doubtful, considering his last post was four years ago during the heyday of ZBrush 1.55
