Thats what I was doing, but the selections were not highlighted for me to select. Turned out I had to do the UVmaster first. then they became available. Thanks for the help. Here is the final...
ok.... figured it out. now i cant figure out how to extraxt the polypaint into a uvw. help? Ok.....figured it out. My problem was I need to use the UV master to get it to UVW.
Thanks you for the guidance! Just absorbed all that new info from the vids. Shocked how powerful polypainting with spot light is! I managed to do what takes 30 minutes into 5 minute with that tool....

Now I just need to learn how in the heck to texture it. The UVW i get out of it is 1 color shaded. How do you get a wireframe out of it, any guides? Another question, do must texture...
Absolutely not cheating. Some of the best work out there has been due to used in Real Life photography as textures. But there's also real good artists out there that can mimic real life.
How in the heck do you get this.the uvw is just a flat color. Any help?
