Nice ray guns! I think the Turtle Melter might be my favorite.

Happy Easter!
It's flashback time. Over ten years I now work with ZBrush.
Starting with version 2 (no Subtools!) after seeing the Angler video
from Pixolator (great video, should be a new version with the ZModeler now).
I made quite a lot Angler Fishes myself over the years mostly for
demonstration purposes. Here are three of them now rendered
in Keyshot.
Hope you like it.
Cheers

And thanks for the comment on my previous post.

yes, the amazing angler fish video! wonderful to see your progression on the topic! i am a very long time user of zbrush too, started with 1.75 even. no subdiv levels then...lol...and, i am a silent visitor of your thread for long, so this post i thought i should say hi :-)
B9 Robot from the television series Lost in Space.
I love vintage robots, and the B9 is one of my all time favorite
like R2D2, Maria from Metropolis and Robby the Robot (which is
from Robert Kino****a the same designer as the B9)
90% of the parts are build inside ZBrush with the Zmodeler Brush.
For parts that are too difficult for the ZModeler I use Modo (goZ).
The model has 80K points and 3MB file size.
Worktime four and a half days.
I change some proportions so it's not movie accurate.
Model send with Dynamic Subdivisions (smooth Level 3 or 4 per Subtool)
with the Bridge to Keyshot for test rendering (16 Mio. Polys in Keyshot).
Hope you like it.

You're a man after my own heart, Ralf!
I loves me some robot, too, and it's nice to find someone with an obvious knowledge of sci-fi films!
You forgot to mention Kinosheeta (my spelling) also designed the Jupiter 2, not to mention 'Tobor the Great'!
Excellent work, Ralf! Brings back wonderful memories.
Thanks!
Gorgeous work on the robot! Just beautiful!![]()

Thanks Frederik, Morbius and Webhead for your kind comment.
Here is my attempt to the 1954 B-SciFi Tobor the Great.
It's from the same designer as Robby and the B9.
As the body looks a bit old today the head on the other
side is kind of modern and classic.
This could be the next trend, less victorian more design.

Great thread, great models. I've always loved your stuff, Ralf, but this is just too cool. Thanks for remembering the old robots!
I love that little robot and the helmet! :-)
The little robot especially. The oval extrusions are interesting.
All the extrusions are interesting!
