Thanks Gary and thanks for dropping by. I've been thinking I might have another run at those spoke wheels. I can see where they could be made to look better. Always seems to be the case though, right? Make something then you see where improvements could be made.
I'm anxiously following the new bike your working on. The front is looking awesome. It appears we like playing with similar subjects in Z.

Nice Cobra. I'd love to see it with some Torque Thrust wheels and wider tires. (yeah I'm a motor head). You ever hear of a little car called a Cheetah? Built by a guy named Bill Thomas in the mid 60's. He wanted to sell it to Chevy to
compete with the Cobra but his shop burned down. Look the car up- I promise you'll love it.
That bike you modeled at the beginning of this thread is awesome. Really nice work.

    Hi Ehren.

I looked at that Cheetah. Your right, I do love it. Very cool. As I mentioned, in my last post, I'm not real happy with the way the spoke wheels came out so I will be doing something different but I may just try and get a better spoke wheel made.

Thanks for stopping by and the nice comments.. I love the way you improved so rapidly with your Zbrush skills. It looked as if you already had great anatomy and artistic acumen way before you ventured into digital art. I look forward to watching your thread and hope to lear a little something about the anatomy and art myself as time allows.

Got inspired by Gary Komar and MAH to try and learn something about Zbrush materials/lightcap/rendering. Dang, there are sure a lot of sliders and buttons. lol.

Anyway, here's what I came up with. I could spend several weeks trying to get a handle on this I bet.

    Can't wait for MAH's tutorial.

    Just having fun brushing.

lighting is everything when it comes too shiny objects - position objects with light caps goes quicker in fast render mode also and
turn off default light and create 2 or more light cap lights hover over to select - adjust each - select spec view for shiny objects

    Default Chevy Truck Again

I've revisited this truck I was a little disappointed with some of it but I had lost interest in it before I fixed it. Additionally some of the new 4r4 tools make things easier.
I rescaled the width of the cab and I think it's much closer to what it should be. No more single seater, LOL. I've been Qremeshing the main parts starting at the front.
So far I used that methed to do the hood front fenders. doors and cab. Once Qremeshed they're seem to be a little easier to smooth and clean up.

Gary, thanks very much for the rendering tips on my previous post of my little rendering test. I have a LOT to learn about all that stuff but beginning my little quest to try and get a handle on it.
Still trying to figure out how you got the three layers on that fender.

Well back to cleaning up this little truck.
All done in Zbrush by the way.

    Have fun brushing everyone.

    Coming along real nicely.
guess i will have to try this qremesher thingy on some of my old models as well...

All of these parts have now been Qremeshed or were not dynameshed to begin with, as in the case of some of the bed parts. The parts smoothed out much better after Qremesh. That seems to be a great new tool addition to Zbrush. I feel like the proportions and scale is much improved now. I;m about ready to get the chassis , wheels, door handles, mirrors and stuff like that on it. As it it in this image it's about 2,350,000 quads.

    Have fun Zbrushing everyone.

Hi Ezra52, I have not visited your site for ages- It really is incredible to realize that your truck was FULLY made in ZBrush and not in some other type of software that is usually dedicated for this type of work. Who would have ever thought ZBrush could allow an artist such as yourself, to create these types of wonderful hardsurface sculpts (that does not have to do with a Mech or a Crysis type suite)?? Your truck looks better than ever my friend, way AWSOME. Please keep up the amazing work. Best, Dragon.

Ha, that's totally cool. Keep working with lightcaps, I know you will get there (Dang, 'they' make it all look so easy... but when we try it, it seems there are a billion buttons etc to select to get what you want-). Wouldn't it be cool to import an image i.e. a cool car mag shot that the vehicle has some great reflections etc INTO ZBrush then, have ZBrush sample the image and apply all the reflections and highlights to your 3D vehicle? Then, all we have to do is mess with things like strength, colour, values etc. Almost seems like something SPOTLIGHT should be able to do. Would be cool. Ah, someday maybe.
