    Thanks Paleo!
    Lots to learn yet.

But I can't seem to get the nice clean (displacement) details like yours
    (post 1947, ShipArray)
Maybe I need to divide more(?).

Attached is the QCube after ZRemeshing and adding panel loops.
(rendered in BPR, and in C4D with green glass material...light outside,
    inside)

    BTW, I just discovered LightCap!

I didn't realize ZBrush had such a great
lighting & rendering system....not as easy to use as others, but looks like it
    can produce excellent results.

I'll play with LightCap, too when I have time.

Curiously, when I imported the obj into C4D, it looks like all the "panels" are individual pieces
around a hollow center, i.e. you can see between the pieces.

    I like KeyShot!

Very intuitive. It does a very nice job with little effort.

    Megacal,

This Displacement Map is one of my favourites and think that its quite a piece of art in itself.
Created and made available by the one and only MICHALIS : https://dl.dropbox.com/u/24090090/Displ%2BAOmaps.zip

I often use Photoshop to enhance my images after a render. You might want to do the same to improve yours if that is what you are looking for. ( see attached text for details)

In the attached images you'll find these, Before and After I Photoshoped them ( No doubt a Pro could do better than me). Checkout the shadows in the first image for example...

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Paleo3d,

thanks for the tips on post-work on renders using Photoshop. I have PS Elements, PhotoImpact, GIMP,
Fireworks (I miss Macromedia!), but my favorite for everyday is Paint.net.

I use them occasionally, but for the most part, go with the render engine's "take" after I twiddle
    the controls to my liking.

It's so subjective, and a matter of personal taste. E.g. Cruisin'......the sky in the enhanced version loses definition
of the clouds on the horizon. I could mask it, use the magic wand, etc, but too time consuming, imho.

What I'd REALLY like to do, is learn how to create maps like michalis. And I still want to try mealea's method
    for creating HDRI's in Blender.

Many, many things to learn & do.....so little time for it.

    Thanks you guys!

In 5001 I think Victoria is going to be VERY old and her secret might be a little more public than it is now...
    GRIN!

I gotta look at the greeble pack.... I need more time and less fiberglassing.

    More screwing around:

    nope...

    Yep, that's where we been!

@Mealea: I don't think I've chimed in on this thread yet, but I've been lurking for days, and STILL trying to catch up to all the amazing work being done. And those last two images are REALLY twisted! I don't know what they are, but they're weird.

    Great, great thread! Just awesome!

    Thanks!

    do with them.

I need more time and less fiberglassing.
    ....your boat or your board?
    The fumes.......inspired "Shiney Crushed"???
