I agree about the visible nudity (in that it is perfectly acceptable in an art forum) as long as it isn't pornographic. If there are artists who create such works i.e. pornographic, then there should be a masking mechanism that would obscure the image from casual viewing.

I don't understand some cultures being okay with scenes of death, decay, war, pestilence etc. but finding images of the unclothed human form obscene.

So I kept working a bit on the girl from page 1 and decided to go for a pose and render test
I did the still with maxwell, not perfect, long time I had not used it... and the turntable is basic mental ray and compositing
    Hope you'll like it!
I'll save the full texturing and shading for when I have finished my portfolio
(by the way, if anyone knows about a job offer in Seoul Korea ^^)

These renders are just awesome, care to share your render workflow for some of these works? I really love Risryn, good stuff!

    Thanks TommyFox!
About my render workflow for Risryn there was nothing crazy, I just tried to get the lighting I had in mind
I chose to take the decimated model into maya so I would not waste time on displace settings and uv's
I used mental ray with FG and mia_materials for the turntable, and maxwell render for the still image!
here are a couple images from maya

And for the alien, I pretty much followed the eat3d tutorial about portraits in maya : http://eat3d.com/maya_portraits
but with a decimated mesh again and no displace, which was not a good idea as it took 9hrs to render

Anyway hope that was helpful, I thought about explaining the render workflow for zbrush turntables with passes (like the ones in first post), if anyone is interested...

and my last speed scuuuuuuuulpt here :
