    Hey folks,

Here's the third and final installment from my time spent participating in Bryan Wynia's (Awesome) Online Creature Design & Sculpting classes.
This is a Hellcat: a furiously sinister beast that stalks the underworld, devouring all of whomever or whatever may cross it's path, living or dead!
First image is a ZBrush/Photoshop comp/illustration, second is a modo clay render, and the third is some ZBrush screen grabs......
    Critiques most welcome and appreciated!

Great sculpt man!! the form and structure are really defined. And I love all the details.
I feel that in your final render that it could use some more color variation in the creature and that if the back ground had more contrast and darker areas that the creature would pop put more. Right now it is all the same value.

Great work thou, defiantly inspiring me to work more on my ZBrush skills. can't wait to see more.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the comments and feedbck. Thanks Ryan for suggestions on what you think could have been done better. I'll keep that stuff in mind for the next one......

Anytime my man, perhaps a strong rim light would also help make it pop a bit more. the sculpt is super strong with lots of really great forms and details, but they are getting flatten out in the final render.

I'm in Bryan's class right now and can't wait to start the Chupacabra! Your sculpt came out really awesome. I do agree with Ryan's critique about the render though. A little tweaking and could be really cool!

polaroid29 - Yeah, Bryan's class is awesome! Although my chupacabre veered off course and wound up taking on a life of its own

    Here's some more creaturey goodness......

My take on the giant, prehistoric flightless birds known as "Terror Birds". ZBrush sculpt and render, (with fibermesh!), final paintover in Photoshop.
Comments and critiques always welcome! Thanks!

Great work. I especially like the skin detail on his neck (is that an alpha, or manual lines?), and the layered scales on top of his head.
    How did you do those?
    Cheers

HerraPuputti - hey, thanks! That's exactly what I was going for! Something kind of adorable and hugable
tomjane7 - the skin wrinkles on it's neck were a combination of a Wrinkle brush I made, combined with cavity masking and inflating after that. The brush preset was something I got from watching a David Krentz video over at Ryan Kingslein's ZBrush Workshops. The scales on the head were just good old fashioned sculpting, maybe using some masks in the process.
Let's see if I can't post that WrinkleRoll brush here......
