    Default Gumboyaya's Sketchbook

    Hello guys,

I am a long time lurker and enjoyed the astonishing art one can find in these forums day by day but finally it seems to be time to start my own thread and showing some of the pieces I do since I am interested in getting some critics and opinions on them.

I am working in the 3d business for more than 10 years with focus on lighting/shading/rendering and print resolution illustration. 3D modelling was always a hobby of mine and last year I decided to switch from advertisment to the games industry and therefore am currently looking for a job in the game industry as a character and/or environmental artist.

The highpoly character below is meant to become part of my portfolio - I'm planning to do an animated lowpoly version too.
I got inspired by a Pokemon character (looking like a bat with big mouth and teeth) when doing research a while back when I wanted to participate in a Pokemon challenge at gameartisans.org. Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish it in time due to incoming projects. So I picked it up again lately. In the end it turn out to be more of a weird candy warlock than a pokemon bat.

As already mentioned constructive critique is appreciated

The character below started as an anatomy study and it finally turned out to be an alien wearing an exoskeleton of some sort.

I still consider it to be WIP but I'm stuck for the moment and decided to step to the next project.

This was an early concept for an alien race starring in the game Astroslugs.
The final Astroslug looked different though.

Modelled, polypainted and rendered with BPR in ZBrush.

    Thanks to Pappete and chalkman.

Below the weird hulubulu candy warlock got some colors. Again it's polypainted and BPR rendered in ZBrush.

I thought I'd post it here also.

I've finished the sculpting on Cyber-Skeletor (my Comicon 2014 entry). I hope you like it.

For more info go to the wip thread at http://www.gameartisans.org/forums/t...wocky-Skeletor.

This is genius, you captured the old school Skeletor while giving him a unique updated look!
