Beautiful feather! Would love to know how you achieved this with just fibermesh. I attempted one with fibermesh as well but wasn't able to get it to be quite as flat as you've achieved. Instead I created mine with S&H converted to poly. I did find though that the render times for using this method with micromesh were pretty long (8 core 3.6Ghz processor and 16 gigs of ram). You'll have to let us know the render length if you get good results.

edit: I guess it doesn't matter how much power you have since Zbrush is only utilizing up to 4 Gigs (damn 32 bit)
