Copyright?

Hello,

There are a few sculptures I love very much and would like to try making in 3d. I am wondering however if there are no problems with copyright in doing so?

It depends on what you do with them. Mostly it has to do with profit. If you try to sell the model or use it in an illustration to sell or advertising then you should contact the copyright holder. If it’s just for fun hobby or practice modeling something you admire then it shouldn’t be an issue.

Even if it isn’t for profit it’s better to acknowledge the original artist/creator of the work you’re replicating or being inspired by. It shows respect for their work and ideas.

Thank you for your reply MentalFrog.

I am just a hobbyist, so it would only be for the fun of it, but if by any chance it would turn out rather well I would like to show the result on the forum.

So if I give credit to the artist and show the reference image i hopefully will not break any laws.
