Default Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Michelangelo

Long time since Ive had time to work on personal work. Ive been wanting to do my own version of
a ninja turtle for ages and did a sketch a while back to try flesh out what I might like to make.

I really want to get a bit of an 80s vibe into my version so drawing inspiration from the culture of the time.
Punk, skate boarding, metal and hip hop fashion. That sort of stuff from pop culture.
I want to create a film ready asset which includes, modeling, texturing and lookdev so this project will probably go for a while depending on work.
So far im just fleshing out my character, working on the anatomy a bit.
Thanks for looking, more to come soon

I love his face!!! So creepy in a good way.
Can't wait to see it done.
    Good job so far.

Ps. I would have liked it better if he had less fingers/toes ...
... expect the worst and hope for the best ...

Thanks, I ended up playing around with the design a bit to try and add more weight to sculpt

Really diggin where the faces are going as I really enjoy the previous sculpts design and character. I'm not jiving with the body however, and I think moving away from too-human anatomy is the way to go. I think you can stay realistic with it, and the 80's theme can really set the stylistic direction and still work with something that is less human. Also, because the shell is so big, it's mostly looking like a dude in a shell costume, and not so much a ninja turtle. I would try some different silhouettes for that form so that it isn't completely drowning his central anatomy (arms, torso, legs).

You're a great sculptor and you have some great forms going on with this re-imagining of a ninja turtle. Keep trying out whatever you feel is best with this guy, and be as exaggerated with your body anatomy as your are with your faces. Great work man.

Thanks, some good advice. Im not really there with the design yet but enjoying doing some exploring with
the sculpt. I think I prefer a more stylised approach maybe something more like this. I'll keep going with shapes and silhouettes.

    Lookin good chris,

You mention you're going to take it further away from human likeness, are you going to thicken his neck and give him a beak?

I love the ninja turtles I can't wait to see where you take this
