Samus Reboot

Hi! I have been wanting to design a modern version of Samus for a while. I finally jumped in a couple weeks ago because of Zbrush’s current hard surface tools. Since Samus is a galactic merc I wanted to give her more of an astronaut look. By this I mean more fabric and synthetic materials instead of all metallic armor.

The dark Samus image was my first draft for the proportions and pose.

The following image is were I am at the moment.

If you have time any feedback on style, proportions, anatomy etc. would be greatly appreciated

thx,
Lee

Oh man, this brings back memories! I love the cloth/suit mix.

I’ve been using the Crease brush and Smooth by features a TON. Does anyone know how to get the BackfaceMask to work with the crease brush? The brush keeps creasing both sides. Thanks!

Here is an update of the torso and legs:

Messing around with bpr to find an interesting color combination…

I reworked the proportions so I can fit Samus inside. What to you guys think??

Your work is very detailed, it’s great!

Thank you Slawa

The waist was too small so I thickened the suit in that area. Here is a render from Keyshot with some touch ups in Ps:
