Default Twisted Horror (Bram Stoker's Dracula) - The Nocturnal Coiffeur and Portrait Service

    Hi ZCommunity,

now I will participate at this nice challenge, too. I got my idea a few weeks ago and started with the sculpt of Gary Oldman as Dracula.

    The Idea:

Dracula is shocked because of his age and his messy looking new hairstyle. Vampires cannot see their mirror image and have to be styled by another one. A clever businessman gets an idea based on this fact and founded an nocturnal coiffeur and portrait service especially for vampires.

    First steps:

At first I have assembled a moodboard made of many pictures of Gary Oldman and I studied his facial expressions. Later I made sketches of the whole scene that I want to show in my final entry. The artist with his wagon will be the next task.

Early pencil sketches of the composition, the wagon and the coiffeur:

First renders of Dracula's portrait sculpt:

At the time I am working on the wagon of the coiffeur and painter:

I would be happy about some comments and criticism...

Nice sketches and great start. I would say right now he looks more like he's ill to his stomach than shocked. Maybe a little wider eye and not have the lower lip curled up so much. Just an initial thought.

First thing that came to mind was the portrait of Dorian Gray.

A nice start on the head,

I think exploring several facial expressions will help find the right one. Dracula may just be hard to impress and the portrait artist character is struggling to please him...dunno just thinking out loud.

Looking forward to seeing this develop.
