    Default big tree

hello all, i have decided to quit my job and try becoming an illustrator .....what ever that is...2d 3d...any way i am going to post my projects as i do them in hope of learning more as i go along...this tree has no ref as to challenge my self but im sure i will turn to some ref at some point....so far i have started with z spheres ....bad idea real as created jagged angles ...my fault as i tend to rush through phases eager to get to next stage......always bites you in the ass...as i keep learning this time after time....start big work to small slowly..

push and pull with move and plenty of clay...im going to add some chimps after watching dawn of the apes.

as i went along i created some insert brushes to speed things up later.

after blocking main shapes and wanting to move forward i have started to use some custom alphas i made from some photos i took of different tree bark....as i said before no ref so this tree is unknown...Ha ha...instead trying to force visual library from what i have seen ....when i think im more finnished i will then use ref and seee the 100,s of mistakes i have made.

The tree looks very nice. Random and natural. I love the way you have done the bark.
