Learning Human Anatomy

Here is a Torso i sculpted. I would appreciate the critique because this is my first torso and i want to know the mistakes i’ve made so i can correct them next time. Thank you.

I thought i’d challenge myself and see if i can sculpt a torso with arms up. It was very difficult and i’m sure i’ve probably made loads of mistakes with this one. I’d appreciate feedback. Thanks

Hey, I am also studying anatomy as much as possible right now and doing the exact same thing as you. Cutting up sections of the body and trying to learn as much as I can about them. I am by no means an expert, but here are a few things I noticed to try to help you out.

  1. Check out your insertions point of pectoralis.

  2. Check out your serratus anterior placement

  3. And Look at your Teres major, minor, and infraspinatus placement. They should stretch up more and connect to the humerus.

And here is an image showing names to help you in that area.

Also, I really liked the way you broke your planes for major forms. It looks really good =) Keep at it!

Thank you so much for your feedback. I’ll check out those links too. I am going to practice, hopefully next time i would have improved.

Been practicing the Arms and Legs. It’s so difficult, and i apologize for the anatomical mistakes. With enough practice i’ll improve. I’ve been working on the torso as well, Follygon your references are brilliant i definitely see where i went wrong now. I’m thinking more about the muscle insertions now instead of just thinking about the shape. Sorry that i haven’t completed an update of the torso but i’ll sculpting the whole body at some point and i’ll show that instead.
