Default Creature - Work in progress

Hi all, here I'm sharing some screens of my creature project. Still need to finish texturing the body but wanted to share some Zbrush/Mari screens.

I'm using Vray but some days ago I tried Marmoset and I was impressed of the results!

I'm currently developing my demo reel at Think Tank Training Centre doing my mentorship with Chris Nichols, senior model/texture at Digital Domain Vancouver.

    it's looking great.

Could you give us some info on the detailing process. The scales look really good. Did you use some scans as alphas ? If so, how did you blend between them. I can see some sharper transitions here and there but overall it looks a very natural transition from one kind of scales to another. Also there are some seams visible, i presume it's because of the displacement maps.

I'm also very impressed with the texture. I had something very similar about half a year ago(dragon/lizard head). I tried to polypaint the texture but i couldn't get the scales definition i wanted. I'm not familiar with mary but i know it has some great masking tools.

What bothers me with the texture is it's tongue. It looks more like a snake skin, and not a soft/muscular tissue.

    Waiting for your next update.

I second everything nikudy said -- great creature, great texture and detail! More info on the detailing would also be, you guessed it, great.

Looks awesome! Can't wait to see it finished.

Theres so much detail in your sculpt, are you using multiple UV tiles? how are you handling tech technical stuff in ZBrush?
