Hi all, i´m doing some anatomy studies on Zbrush, in this case the boy (i´ll post the girl later when is ready) for the moment it´s a wip, hope you like it.
Very good study. I like the definition of the anatomy and at same time it looks natural.
I'm curious about the references you used, 3d.sk? I find the refs in that site are tending too much for textures artist for frontal poses (flat lighting) without giving an alternative version with a more sculptural lighting. It is not easy to find alternative sites.
Altea Try using sites with 3D scans as a source of references. They usually provide sets of images from different angles of the model. And this images are free. They are often rendered within Zbrush and make anatomy very clear.
Thanks Altea! yes, with references like 3dsk and others like that is more difficult to achieve good results by the problems you mention... in this case I use some low quality pics that i found on google images from the anatomy tools models, which have served me especially for the main forms of the model, but as i say the pics have very low resolution, you can try as Vir Norin says using some 3d scans references, now i´m doing some fixes in abs and back specially, soon i´ll post the updates.
Now That I see the photos from anatomy tools I can see the similarities.
In fact I think some elements of your model are better, for example the head and the general feeling. Also that you inherit some elements that were already present in the original model, the back and the clavicle. I don't say that those elements are wrong in the original references but, for example, how sharp is the bottom of the trapezium perhaps could be improved.
Even from real photos some elements feel odd and it is needed to choose between accuracy to the photo or to the standard average expected.
About 3d scans the only source that I find useful is Ten 24, the rest is really scarce.
It will be interesting to see the updates to this model and the female one.
Thanks Altea, yes my model needed some corrections in areas that you had appointed and others, now i bring another render with all that corrected (abs, back, clavicle, etc..) I think now look much better and realistic, what you think?
Thanks!! Here another model, this time Arnold Schwarzenegger sculpture in his bodybuilder era, much work to do, for the moment working on proportions/volumes, is very wip but i think is time to show the model for receive some c&c.
