ZBerry's Sketchbook 2015

Hey guys, starting a new sketchbook here. First entry is a mech pilot helmet design, dynamesh sculpt from a sphere, then resurfaced and rendered in Keyshot.

Then I did a texture pass using substance painter and PS, and rendered again, this time in marmoset toolbag.

Rancor looks amazing. Shapes are perfect, and the texturing is really well done. beautiful job.

Yes, great looking rancor! Nice hard surface work, too.

Love the rancor!

Thanks guys! And dopepope I like your thread alot, so many monsters!! This one is based on a concept by Jaemin Kim https://www.artstation.com/artwork/dragon-2301c4d7-fb08-4a0e-b726-61c268fe93b1

that dragon is badass!!! great job!!!

I agree. Everything is amazing but scales are the best!

I have to agree, the dragon looks amazing. But back to the pilot helmet, can you please share your way of texturing it? Some kind of dropping the texture from model to 2D, then edit and give it back to the model? Thanks for more info

Love the dragon!

Thanks everyone! I had a blast working on the dragon so far.

Oliveiro, I used polypaint to block out some basic colors in ZB, then used Substance Painter to texture the helmet, you can paint on multiple channels of the shader, including height, in 3d or on UVs.

Nicely done!

Amazing work !
Congrats

Killer all around

Thanks Gabo, Lucas, and Dman! Here’s my latest project:
