    Default Stug III ausf D

Hello, this is my Stug III I did in Zbrush.

I did want to learn effectively the new polygon modeling tools so this was a nice project to do so. Texture is a polypaint, shaders are zbrush's render is BPR with its passes composited in photoshop. The point of it was to use only zbrush.

Maybe it's worth noting that this was done 100% on a wacom cintiq companion. So yes, now you can model effectiveley on the go with this.

Anyway tell me if you like it.

    Thumbs up Nostalgia setting in

This is cool! Reminds me of the countless hours spent on making 1:32 scale dioramas 30 years ago... :-)

Am expecting to see more like this from you. Keep it up!

Putting it together actually felt like doing a model kit.

I'll do another one when I'm done with my current stuff, maybe do an airplane next.

outstanding job. Would love to see some more WIPs or other images from ZBrush. Any wireframe images would be great to see. I know this helps the community a ton.

    Thanks.

I could make a turntable of the model but I need to recenter the WHOLE thing (all subtools)... by the way is there a way to do this?

I'll render some closeups and some elements when I get 2 minutes.

    Hey Phart3d

Yes you could do a couple of things to put it in the center. Below are two options.

    1. Use the Transpose Master to merge everything by clicking the TPose Mesh.
    2. Click on Unify when the model is merged. (This will change the physical size of the model.) If you don't want to change the physical size you can use the Tool>Geometry>Position sliders. Turn them all to 0.
    3. Click the TPose>SubT button and let the Transpose Master do the rest of the work.

    Or

    1. You can click on Merge Visible in the Tool>SubTool>Merge menu. This will create a whole new Tool.
    2. Select the Tool and do one of the two from Step 2 above.

I agree with Doug in that it would be cool to put a pattern on the sand bags. Maybe something like the Noise7 in the Lightbox>Noise menu. This will make the bags look a little more like burlap. Just an idea.

Let me know if this helps.

Merging everything is not possible here, it's 128 000 000 polygons.

Easyest: GoZ to for instance C4D and center there.
Then you would naturally have to break your "Zbrush only" approach.

Yeah well at that point it doesn't matter it's really just to make a turn table, so yes, I could just go to maya, group, center, ungroup, go back to zbrush.
