Completed awhile back, here's the final of my Pharaoh Hound écorché study, with a focus on medical accuracy. Descending and transverse superficial pectoral muscles, biceps femoris, brachiocephalicus, trapezius, and latissimus dorsi removed. Want to thank my friend Alexey (R1DD1CK) for inspiring me and giving me tips on presenting vibrant medical images.
Working on a female ecorche as well, and finalizing an arabian horse sculpt I'm working on. More stuff coming soon. For more images, please visit my artstation: https://www.artstation.com/artist/itzfx
I would be very interested to know, how you started the Basemesh of the hound,
because I want to create my own Saluki bitch (Nefertari) in ZBrush, would you like to explain it? - That would be marvelous!
Thanks everyone, much appreciated, will have new work up over the weekend.
@Morgaine - I use zbrush over other sculpting apps, because of zsphere so thats my preferred method to start most sculpts. So you can either follow suit or use the dog base that comes with zbrush. Then its a large combination of move, standard, dam_standard, clay buildup, clay tubes, and flatten brushes. More than anything what's required is a ton of reference images, if I had to number it, at least 40% of the time spent on this particular piece was spent on books, research, dissection videos, and reference images. Pay attention to silhouette, and overall proportions when working on your canine. Hope this helps.
