    Default yuuva's sketchbook

Hi everyone! I am new to the website and Zbrush in general, so I thought I would post up my best work here and look for feedback. I have drawn character art for years and years, so even though I am new to 3D, I think my skills translate more or less over to the sculpting side : )

This is a bust of an elder tribesman, the first serious face I've ever done. I really am in love with the dam standard, and I bet a lot of you here are too. I think I need to learn more about alphas when using brushes though

Zbrush quick sculpt! Reference used http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/...ix=protagonist
I did the glasses in Maya. I know this is my very first time trying to model from a photo, so I know I will get better with practice! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated : )

for a first try on likeness this is very good. i recognized him from the thumbnail already... a few points i note, is the ears, they seem to be flat where they should be more like bowls. the moutharea is too flat, anatomically wrong. most importantly, there needs be a definite grove between lips and chin. a sideview foto as reference would help you with the profile... good start on practicing likenesses, keep going!

This was a quick project I did to learn Fibermesh, it was my first time using it. Right out of Zbrush, it was alright, but I had to do some doctoring in Photoshop after the fact for things like blending the hairlines into the skin and getting highlights on stuff. This picture was heavily inspired by http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthr...182118-Warrior as I wanted to try and make that guy's hair with fibermesh. I couldn't 100% do it just yet, but there's always more to learn. On a side note, I am really impressed at how easy fur is to do with fibermesh, it's easier than in Maya!

    Default Garrosh Hellscream

I always loved Garrosh Hellscream from the Warcraft universe, especially his cinematic version, so I made a fan sculpt : )
I am really pleased with how good of results polypaint is giving me
I will have a timelapse video of my process up soon

    Default Milu WIP 1

Just a WIP of a piece I'm working on. I finally feel like I'm starting to get a grasp on using Zbrush!
I hate to do this but I am having major issues attaching or uploading pictures in a post, will have to put a link to it

She is 95% done! I am debating whether or not to add tertiary details in since she is more cartoony and less realistic. Either way, I can't wait to retopologize so I can texture her!

    Default River Healer Class

I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback and comments on my designs and techniques. I am still far newer to the 3D realm than the 2D one, so I have a lot to learn. That also means that I will be drawing my own concept art for my sculpts, and no fanart or using anyone else's ideas!

RIVER HEALER (rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 2)

This girl started out as a concept for a healer class for an MMO game. I wanted sci fi elements present on her and very little armor without making her really skimpy. I kind of regret building her in A pose because the topology would need to be redone under the armpits if I ever wanted to rig her...will have to remember this in the future.

I am very proud of this model because it is the very first character I have brought all the way from concept to finished piece fully textured. I have always just stopped at a bust or untextured in the past. It feels really good to finish something you love. I can't wait to do this process again!

Good going at finishing the process from top to down, its indeed an accomplishment when a character is completed from top to end..
In terms of f/b ,I think you had an amazing concept in 2D ,though the sculpt output could have been more refined by some little additions:
    - On Torso, some suggestion of underlying antomy such as a rib cage, pelvic bone might do good. This wouldnt tend to make it look realistic as it would still be subtle ,only to suggest form. Now, that area has a little too simple shape which could definitely do with some touch ups.
    - I would suggest a slight fold on the hands even though its t pose, his also helps in bringong very subtle form of biceps(not the big muscles) and elbow in,which again aids in visual interest,Similar thing with the feet,It should help with spreading out in the form of V-shape rather that a stiff straight line.If you observe any feet ,this is the natural structure that follows.
    - The chest area.I understand shes a little girl, but you have given a bump in that area,in which case it would need some refinement to suggest underlying breasts, again in a subtle manner. You can refer to disney female characters to understand what i mean
    - The hair is very pivotol in terms of your concept being a toony character. This is because you see some detail happening here and this becomes easily noticable,I woudl suggest you to refine the hair in terms of clumps .A mix of big and small clumps,a nd once you find that it works go into smaller strands. The pony that flows down by the side and behind seems very rigid and could do with a natural feel by making it more dynamic.Again, refer Disney cartoons..
I know this got big,but hope it helps you...its important to get your sculpt right to a certain point .I understand the pain when you dont relly get f/b..thats why i let it all out..haha..All the best to u..

Thank you so much Redsea for taking the time to give feedback, I hadn't noticed most of the things you pointed out, especially relaxing the arms and hands and making more of a v with the feet. These will help me immensely
from now on. I guess I had gotten tunnel vision in trying to convert my concept into 3D 100%, but now I realize that it will introduce problems that you pointed out. I had thought of refining the shape of
her chest and hip bones and ribcage in the early stages, but I decided to leave those things out in favor of more cartoony look; I will definitely try these things out in my next stylized sculpts however, I think doing
these things is a fine balance between cartoon stylized and realism in terms of anatomy.

    Default Snowhound Axe

This was for a texturing class. We had to make a low poly weapon and texture it with a single diffuse/albedo map.
