Default [Shumetsua] Monsters, Girls and other stuff

    Well.
I'm new to ZBrush because its quite expensive if you are not on a trial.
also i was afraid of 3D programs because they tend to be much more complicated than 2D

but after a little crash course in 3d studio max, i started to get a little feeling for it.
it made me to try sculptris and i had quite a lot fun with sculpting and modeling.

the 2nd and 3rd work in sculptris (1st should become an anime girl but i went crazy with the hair and stoped working on that first project :P hair in sculptris is a bit ...well)

now i said to myself. "hey! try out this zbrush. look at all this amazing options with it."
so i downloaded the trial and tried it out

the very first project in zbrush is this little guy here.
it should become some robotik alien by starting with zspheres and zsketch.

yea..i still need to learn a lot :P

the second project should become a girl.
since i used that demo head mesh, i still need to work on the anatomy of her neck.
and working on some more details of her face..and thinking about how to color her.
(the eyeballs are some finished ones i downloaded, because i didn't like working on a face with empty eyes)
today i wanted to play around with fibermesh after a lot of working on her mouth (still not fully satisfied, but on a good way)

but as you see the hair is a bit off...
i have some problems to find the best tools to with, like to comb the hair. to cut and to make it longer.
(i guess i should create different hair parts on the head oo and comb them seperated from each other.)
what are some good slider options to make eye lashes? i played around on them a lot but some just look off and its hard to comb them too :/
i feel like i need to long for them. if i see some amazing fibermesh works like the beards of the dwarfs of the hobbit.

and are there some more decent render possibilities in zbrush?
i mean that programs are quite expensive, and i would like to stay with zbrush first instead of buying an other program just to render

    Thanks for your advices!

Regarding how to get more out of fibers: http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide...ing/fibermesh/

The grooming brushes are now accessed through the folders in the Brush tab of the LightBox interface.

To get a finished render of Fibers (or pretty much any other model) you need to do a Best Preview Render (BPR). http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide...rendering/bpr/ The other rendering options will only render the working fibers, as well as having inferior antialiasing and so forth. Of course you could also use KeyShot. (http://pixologic.com/zbrush/features/ZBrush-to-KeyShot/)

    Thank you aurick,

i will try that out today, as soon i'm back home

well... the keyshot way is one of the a little bit expensive ones XD
since i'm just learning, and may decide to buy ZBrush, i have to look at my money
designers for print and web in Germany (especially Berlin) are not the wealthiest ones
means i stay with ZBrush first for my hobby sculpting at home

Playing around with some options and some painting options and brushes
But still far far away from some amazing Monsters Designs I see here all the time XD

This time I actually wanted to create some kind of asian Samurai guardian statue.
But all the stone and wood materials looked not special of fitting enough.
