CR-2 Pilot Design

Hi everyone!

I’m glad to share my latest personal project with you guys. It’s a Sci-Fi Pliot Design called CR-2. I used ZBrush for 95% of the modeling, which I’ve never done before, I mean using ZBrush for hardsurface stuff, but it was a lot of fun and BIG thanks to this whole community, I’ve learned so much from all of your threads, really inspiring and helpful!

All the renders are done in 4K, so be sure to check out the full res renders. (To be able to post it here, I had to increase the jpg compression quite a lot, so there might be some artifacts here and there).

Congrats on Top Row!

Hard surface models sculpted in Zbrush are always a sight to behold. The amount of intricate detailing is just gorgeous.

went in your project.? from start to finish.

About the project time, well it’s really hard to tell as I worked on this personal piece only in my spare time and unfortunately, there’s not much of it. :frowning:
Usually I can spent only one or two hours here and there but then again for weeks not even a minute, so overall the project kept me busy nearly a year, but I would say the pure working time was maybe something between 6-8 weeks from the idea to the final 4K images.
I also tested some new workflows here and there and my focus was on the possibility to be able to render hi-res close ups, which slows down the whole process because of the large amount of data you have to handle during the modeling and texturing process.
