Default 3D Printing straight from ZBrush

    Commissioned by Ballantine's Whiskey.

3D printing straight from ZBrush is so much more free and organic compared to traditional 3D packages where you get bogged down with topology far to early in the creation process.
I made this sculptor for artist Leif Podhajsky inside ZBrush before it was 3D printed.

A little bit about the project - It was made to symbolize the 12 years of aging necessary for the maturation of the product. The artist Leif Podhajsky imagined 12 independent strata to dress the bottle of Ballantine's 12 Year Old. Artistic metaphor, this creative and innovative sculpture uses new technologies 3D printing. Opaque at the base of the structure, 12 superposed elements intertwine sensually around the bottle and refined progressively as the eye travels creation. They are adorned with the colour of the precious liquid at the top, highlighting the contribution of aging to its colour palette. Affixed on an oak base, the 12 strata echo the barrels used for aging whiskey, bringing their touch the aromatic palette.

I am putting the finishing touches to two more projects and I will post them soon, in the mean time here is a little break down of the sculptor.

If you have any questions I would be more then happy to answer them. If you would like anything produced in 3D then I would also be more than happy to help.

Well, this is different, and very cool. Who would have ever thought? 'Kudos' to you.

Thanks Dragon, I am getting quite into 3D printing at the moment, so much to learn.

I just noticed this thread is mentioned on the Pixologic blog, happy days.
