I went to Croatia with a ton of fantastic artists. My presentation was on Design Principles in the Automotive industry and how it applies to any vehicle design. I built this ship to demonstrate my points. then used Zbrush talked about it's incredible tools that allow me to design pretty much anything. I created the vehicle from shadowbox and dynamesh. I use clay buildup, hipolish and move brushes to find the form then polygroups and creases to tighten it down. I retoped the clean mesh in Maya (I could have used Zbrush but I felt I should show a workflow and specific tools I might use at Ford design), then back to Zbrush to paint my paneling on. I regrouped, tightened edges and used paneling to create the metal panels. I posed the wings and added small parts and stabilizers then prepared the mesh for visualization. In KeyShot I simple played with materials and labels. I painted a logo based on the Spirit of Detroit statue downtown and label-mapped it to the wing.
