Default Porgs on Ahch-To - rasmusW

i think it's about time i start learn some new zbrush trickery and what better occasion than a contest for a fantastic initiative.

i haven't really decided on a concept yet. i dabble between two ideas. first one is arch-to populated with porgs and lukes lightsaber. the other is "jabba's throne".
i made some very crude sketches to give a better idea.

    have fun everyone.

Funny, I considered doing a Jabba's throne before I landed on Slave 1. Can't wait to see what you go with!

When you settle on your concept we're going to have to rename your thread so that it fits the contest rules and guidelines.

here's a small test of the concept in 3d.
not sure what to think yet.

trying to think a bit of practical elements in it aswell.

Great start. Love the Jabba idea but I would definitely lean more towards the porgs. However, I would be concerned how many of the kiddos would know these guys.

thanks a lot all of you!

gabo1991: i really didn't think of that. well i best cross my fingers and hope they saw the last jedi.

here's a little more progress. i did a base for the porgs.
the body was made using the good old dynamesh, and then i remeshed that to get a lighter base.
the legs i tackled a bit differently. this might not be the smartest workflow, but i tried a different approach than i normally do and therefore learned something new. (yes! it is more or less my first time using the poly modeling tools.... -shame on me)..

i did a small breakdown of the process.

next time, i'll start looking on the cliffs.

here a little update on the cliffs.
i started with a cube, and tested some of the deformers, mostly just for fun. the main shaping tool was trim dynamic brush.
