Oscar Trejo - Zbrush Live & Artdump

Ive been doing streamings for aprox 8 months in pixo channel and I realized that I never shared anything here in the forum so Im starting a new thread to do that
This was part of the collab streams Im doing with Jose Rosales another great artist that is streaming in the pixo channel.
The idea was to work on the same mesh over and over until we have a finished sculpture

So far we have done 4 streams with this sculpture

So I think it was over a year ago I did some concept art for a shortfilm.
At first I did some quick sketches in Zbrush to know exactly what the client wanted.
Once the final look was decided I did a more detailed sculpture and render

During my streamings I do a collaboration with Jose Rosales and this is one of the creatures we have created as a team effort.
The idea is to sculpt on the same mesh over and over until we are happy with the result.

For this mummy I was inspired by a real unknown pharaoh called Double Falcon (Dju Nebwy) little is known of this ruler so that gave me an idea what if he had that name because in fact he was two pharaohs in one.

Hi Oscar, really nice concept. Would you mind telling me if you used a mask or a brush to achieve this? Also how many polys on the original tooth to get such clean edges around the designs? Thanks:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Wow, Oscar! I love this. I’m a prosthodontist in the NE and use Zbrush for my dentistry as well!

Thanks! Sure each “crown” is around 2 million I did it using 2 different methods:
Alphas I just needed enough resolution to apply the alpha properly and in case I needed more I could use sculptris pro to add resolution to a specific area. I used alphas from Jonas Ronnegard and a low resolution imageo of a butterfly that the client found on internet that I had to clean since it was a very small image

Also used Live Booleans inserted as a new subtool the mesh of the design (the dog in this case) and make sure that the dog matched the shape of the tooth mainly by using the move brush after that activating Live Boolean and Make boolean mesh
Nothing to crazy but it worked

Hey thanks!! Thats awesome Paul! I found really cool all the ways that zbrush can be used!
For sure this is my mail ostrejoal@gmail.com
Cheers!

Hi Oscar, Thanks so much for the info. I’ve really got to remember the live Boolean functions and use them more.:+1:

I did this Robot during my Zbrush live Streaming

When I did this streaming the “Lion King” trailer was released so I decided to do a Simba but with a hardsurface take

3D Scan and Lightning excercise of a Burial site in Huaca Pucllana
During my trip to Peru I was able to do a scan of this Burial site on top of the Huaca Pucllana pyramid on Lima Peru. Although the pyramid was constructed by the Lima Culture , burial sites belong to the Huari culture.
I used Reality Capture to create the mesh and then Zbrush and zremesher to have something lighter to export to 3Dsmax

On MAx I did some lightning exercises to give the burial site different moods
