Pedro Pereira's Personal Work

Hello Zbrush community!
I decided to create this thread in order to archive present and past work done over the years using Zbrush.
I will start by sharing a model of an octopus I have finished recently.

This is an incredible sculpt. Wase the base mesh done in Zbrush?
I’d love to see it painted/texture mapped.

Extra images of the octopus including a b&w version plus a wireframe image straight from Zbrush.

Thank you Peter for your kind words.
To answer your question, the tentacles were modelled in Maya since I needed to make sure I could control the topology of the suckers based on their size.
Once I was done with the 8 tentacles I created a basic head still in Maya and exported the model to Zbrush.
In Zbrush I ended up reshaping the head massively which meant I had to retopo the head in order to keep the model clean.
I used ZRemesher to get a more even topology taking into consideration the rest of my model so I could easily stitch it together afterwards.
To do that I simply counted the number of edges per edge loop of the body and then I tried multiple times the ZRemesher tool until I got the same number of edges.
I’ve attached an image of the wireframe so you can have a visual reference.
In regards to texturing the model I am currently working on that but I plan to publish a few more projects before that.

Another model I made using primarily ZBrush. All the components of this model were made out of spheres and the power of DynaMesh.
All the parts were ZRemeshed and some loops were fixed using TopoGun. Detail added using both alphas from Surface Mimic and hand sculpted details.
Renders done with Arnold in Maya.

keep em coming.

you really studied crabs as well as possible ,understanding crab exoskeleton forms is really challenging for an artist and you did it great …well done:+1:

Love the textured feel of both models! Keep it up!

Thanks Vincent! I will!

Used the previous crab model I made to block the shapes of a ghost crab. Will carry on working on secondary shapes. All Zbrush.
