    Default Gemstone materials

    Hi there,

I mostly design jewelry in ZBrush and use a lot of stone models to create my pieces. Just for the fun of it I would like to have killer materials to render my stones. Any place I could buy these materials or download? I need rubies, topaz, tourmalines and the like. Any leads?

    Thank you!!
Better not start but if you do, you sure better finish...

Try Keyshot. It has rich material base.

There are a number of matcaps available on the pixologic site, but these are really only suitable for quick preview work in Zbrush. If you want photo realistic gemstone renders with advanced lighting and translucent qualities, you'll want to use a third party renderer. Zbrush for Keyshot and the Keyshot bridge make this pretty easy.
