bronze wip

I’m trying to make a nice bronze material, not as easy as i thought !
Sometimes it looks like stone and sometimes like metal

Uhaaa. I love it. Looks great.

Hey Jantim, you may have to play around with the anisotropic settings and a diffused environment reflection. Then determine if you want ozidized (noise) or polished.

Jason, i cranked up my anisotropic setting , put in a little environment reflection
and it is better now…me thinks  Hope you like this one as well, vlad74 .

yep jantim. It is better than the first one.

can you post the material on the second one
i like it
http://www.medievaltimes.com/giftshop/600/4%20excalibur%20bronze.jpg

I find it much improved as well.

Glad to be of assistance.

Glad you all agree it’s better, i made a lot of renders and sometimes you just
look to long at your own stuff !
I will post the material after some tweaking, but i would like to know if a
material that uses images that are on your own harddisk can be zipped as well
i mean are these images included in the zip-file or do you have to post them in another file …does anyone know ?

jantim

open up the material propertise
and at the bottom make sure your texture is showing in the option box
if it is then the texture will embed it self into the material
now chose :small_orange_diamond: Save
and place it on your desk top to zip.
all you need is just the material the texture should embed it self.

if the texture is only on the object we might not get the results your getting so you need to tell us
is the texture on the out side or embed into the material.

if the texture is on the out side and not embed then Yes you need to zip the texture allso

Great shader  Love the cavity effects

Regarding the material…there is good news and bad news:confused:
The bad news is that the material used in the image is 2.5 mb,zipped 1.4 mb
and you can only post to 500 kb. The good news is that after i deleted the images, that is most of them, from the shaderchannels it did not look to bad!
So decided to post it

I assembled this little monk, from spare parts i made earlier, just to show how it
looks with the shader, the buttons and the ball are a variation i made in S4.

as this material needs strong light i included the lightrig

Thanks jantim!

I like him. He appears to be holding the Holy Orb of Intergalactic Power.

Sorry, it’s one of those days.

Thanx a lot for your superb material !
The skull is great :+1:

you did a real nice job on the material
i like it and later on tonight i will have more time to try it on other objects.
thank :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:
you are the Bronze master of zbrush

Hi jantim,
Seeing your work and experiments , I wanted to express my admiration . I can very much relate to your style of modelling , although you need to work on some of the features of the skull. And your material is quite an eye opener for me, that is the re-iteration of Zbrushes automnomy as a renderer.

Thankyou for the enjoyable viewing , and sharing some worthwhile information.

All the best

Kircho

Well Jantim, I think you are receiving some decent accolades.

Jantim,

I must join the throng and thank you for this lovely, seductive material. Not only does it provide a welcome new option for our personal materials libraries, it’s a great jumping off point for mixing rich, new materials through simple parameter changes and swapping in new maps. LOVE IT!

Sven

Thank you all for your positive reactions:)
I hope you make beautifull renders with it, and by changing some settings
you can make all sorts of metal !
I updated my skullscene with the new 4 lights rig and it looked even more
metalic !
