Export subtool objs to Maya with intact polygroups

How can I export all subtools to separate objs or fbxs, with polygroups preserved for material assignment in Maya?

Subtool Master can export all subtools, but enabling polygroups export results in randomly fragmented meshes in Maya. Conversely, the Fbx exporter can export polygroups as either materials or selection sets. But it can’t export all subtools automatically.

For now I’ve been using UV Master Unwrap All with Polygroups enabled, so I can assign materials in Maya based on UV shells. But this is too slow for my purposes - I often have upwards of 100 subtools.

The fbx exporter can export all subtools at once, just make sure you have the “all” option checked at the top of the exporter.
