I think your models are great points to start. I have also used the cut and paste idea in the past. I am moving away from Maya for modeling though, I have several techniques that are fast, but find Zbrush much more efficient.

As I have been pushing Zspheres quite a bit for the flexibility I thought I'd post this foot to compare with yours. It's just the basic Zsphere with out any playing, but as you can see the polygon count is quite similar to your foot model.

Just some info that might be useful to someone.

Yeah, hours of work versus minutes. Gotta love the humour.

Humour ?!? Very scary. Like standing next to a Michael Angelo with an ash tray made of clay and comparing.

Bahh! Your hard guys! Look at his post, with few more work, this feet has a better looking.... Like everybody knows, its more a question of talent than tools... WIth few more work, he will be able to achieve a very realistic rendering of his feet (however im not very fan of zspheres...).

    sppedfoot29nr.jpg

But we see that the base mesh looks less clean than a hand made mesh. I think it could have been fixed sooner with few edges loop in zb...

abxy : this is a 200 000 polys model, and ... i wish you an HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!!

Jason Belec : i spent a whole day sculpting and tweaking my feet, with tons of ref photos next to me... After the first 30 minutes, my foot looked like more or less like your. It's mainly a matter of time, patience, and observation.

Sebcesoir : I also guess , after seeing the videos of the next release of ZB, that we will be able to build a clean mesh from scratch without the need to use Maya or another app

If anyone thought I was in anyway offended - you are mistaken. I have rarely posted final works, as I have little time for my own and clients can be ever so weird. I usually post extrapolations of techniques. As for the foot, it was posted to show the similar number of polys to the foot done in Maya. I come from NURBS environment, so I'm used to clean simple geometry with very detailed displacements applied, I've been doing techniques posted here for years.

My original contribution to this thread was intended to show a possible process for some, especially newbies who may not have Maya or other apps.

It however has been hilarious, and I appreciate all that came to my defense. I also appreciate all that jumped on it, hehe.

"Humour ?!? Very scary. Like standing next to a Michael Angelo with an ash tray made of clay and comparing. " <-- joke here.

Very sorry if any of you felt it was more then a joke. Sorry Jason Belec for my very unfortunate expression. Please forgive.

    Default Wow

Wow! I must say that is incredible! Very realistic! The only crit I would have is that her nipples are looking a little small and undefined. Other than that, she looks awesome
