It’s actually possible to create greebles very easily in ZBrush using displacement. Check out the zscript.

yeah its pretty easy to get a sort of approxamation to the greeble effect, but no where near as good looking (at the moment although I have a feeling things may change in 2.5). I know alot of modellers frown at using plug-ins for greebling, but at the end of the day why make work for yourself lol. I wrote my own versio for maya ages back, granted I never actually found a use for it but least its an easy way to add detail to space type thingies.

Hopefully zb 2.5 will expand upon the terrific base or zb’s organic modellling strengths and also means we can get some more hard edges (clean ones that is).

Wayne…

How’s that? 100% Zeeble! 100% ZBrushRender! 100% No Script! 100% No Inflate! But 100% Lemo

Thats some nice clean hard edges that you’ve got going there lemo. Care to share a zscipt on it? (no matter how high my poly count mine stuff look rough as a donkys backside.) I still wish it was easier to do hard edge stuff though… I have a feeling one day we’ll see it in ZB.

Wayne…

man this loooks awsome lemonnado, nice clean edges, how the hek did u do that?
greetingz ever

WOW lemonnado
as DarthWayne said mind sharing a zscript of how you do it?

If you are like me then you might have been wondering about the term greeble.

Here’s a bit of a writeup on the term.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greeble

Besides Greeble’s there are also Nurnies and now Zeeble’s! Zeeble’s are Greeble’s or Nurnies based on greyscale images. Zeebology however is the science of the construction of those images and a zeebologically correct image is one of maximum contrast, edge sharpness, and constructed out of geometric primitives! I am sure this will become a trivia question!
:lol:Lemo

pretty zeeblicious Lemo!!

I suppose there’s no relation to Weebles?

zeebles can only be weebles if they don’t fall down, if they do then they really are greebles which can be weebles if they don’t fall down, if they don’t fall down then they are really Nurnies which could really be weebles if they don’t fall down but since we don’t really know if a tree makes a sound if no one is around to hear it then a Nurnie is really a Zeeble.

simple eh?
