And the brain says bye bye!

I came across this really cool post stamp… And Oscar drew that in 1934. It’s time it’s been modeled in ZBrush! Only 9 cubes! Took me the entire lunchtime.

CHALLENGE: You can do it better! At least the texture… and the background… and maybe with sphere’s… or cylinders… or…
[mindloose.jpg]
Btw… Yes, it’s a 3d model.

Lemo

How? Its an impoosible model? They are only supposed to work in 2d. Could you show other views?

Not yet!

IT IS A CHALLENGE! lol

Lemo

PS: HINT… 2D is a projection of 3D as 3D is a projection of … Well… now it’s easy!

4D??!!!
Damn… were’s Escher when you need him?

I think it works because it’s an orthographic projection… use a perspective projection and it’ll be all fudged up!

would not suspect this will work in 3d

Seems you are missed something
(or it’s not very clear with your background)
The beauty of this drawing is also the "star’ resultant in the center!

Another amazing “fixed images animated” “trompe l’oeil” Akiyoshi KITAOKA

I smell 2.5D trickery here, nice though…

Nope, really ONE 3d structure consisting out of 8.something cubes…

Boring topic it seems. I can hear the crickets in this thread… and the desert wind and the distant blues harp playing a sad western tune… Nobody up for 3d puzzles?

Lemo

Well it works-sort of. I figured out 2 ways to do it ;this is the easiest way first…Cheat!

…now I have a splitting headache with the Multimarkers movings

Poor Frenchy Pillou

Attached it is!

Enjoy

All you have to do is to twist it into the right view.

Cheers

Very ingenious! (steps aside to let newspaper blow, unimpeded, along deserted street).

Respect for that one Lemo, top of the class…

…simplicity!

Thanks folks! But… I learn from the best ;). Any case, I can’t really take credit for the geometry:o… Just for the idea to tease you with it and to stuff it into ZBrush:sunglasses:

Recently I came across a GREAT Website which, contained a lot of material and answers for questions I had for quite a while. You have to poke a bit around in it but I bet you will find some COOL stuff!

and

Go to ‘Gallerie’ from the main menu and you will find the collection of weird models.

PS:Use the site translator from Google. I’m lucky. I speak German 8-).

PPS:Leave a nice note to Mr. Meier in the ‘Gaestebuch’.

If you have the free Google Sketchup :+1:
try my little animation

Here is your file as .mov
Lemo

…revival

…it’s a little more complicated!
Because you see something who is not in “perspective” ! (just axonometry)
So the start model must be more deformed for see “your form” as you show it in “real pespective”
Infinite complexity of the geometry
And my brain is exploded again one more time
