    Default My 1st attempt

    Hi everyone!

This is my absolutely 1st attempt at Zbrush, not considering the few tutorials I followed. In fact, this is my very 1st attempt in any 3D tool whatsoever. I decided to post this here so that I can learn with hints and crits from all of you. Thanks!

This was made entirely in Zbrush.

The hands started out as zspheres. To do the branches, I started with the same zspheres layout and just divided and tweaked and stretched.

The skin textures were made with 3D copy and then manual finetunes, highlights, etc. The water is Gelshader, with some parameters tweaked and with some manual zadds for bumps.

All in all, nothing fancy, just plain old (and wonderful!) Zbrush!
Below there's a pic with the various steps for the main elements.

    Cheers!

Maybe you don't believe me when I said this was my 1st try. But it's true. Of course, I followed several tutorials, in the course of which I made some simple scenes. Furthermore, I have some experience drawing with paper & pencil, so shapes are not unfamiliar to me.

I made some small adjustements in the scene now, to try to blend the hands and the branches more.
Tell me what you think: better or worse?

    Thanks!!

    Default Yup

I agree, I don't really like the change in the second one. Stick with the progress you made with the first one your steadily on your way to the top

ZB may be more intuitive for those who has no preview 3D experience?
    BTW impressive art.
    Animated would be awesome.
