    Hi Scott,

    Very cool texture
    Just a few questions:
º How hi is the model
º Is it all detailed directly on the model or did you use some map?

    Thanks! Again, very cool

    Hi elarcano

The details are all sculpted into the mesh. This guy is at about 6 millon polygons. I raised my max polys per mesh setting and I have 3 gigs of ram on the machine I was using.

Thanks, I am glad you like it : )

    Hi Everyone,

Thanks again to everyone who commented on this thread.
I just wanted to share this bust we output of this character. He is solid resin and stands about 6 inches tall. No cleanup in wax on this, this is right off the printer. I am happy to see how much detail transfered.

On a sidenote Wacom is usig this character in the new Cintiq ads and GG used him in Cinefex... Who knew he would have such an interesting life : P

My next step I think is to cast him in clay and continue to sculpt on him... if only there were more hours.... Funny thing, the lighting here seems to catch the buildines as well... those arent even visible in person so I need to learn how to properly photograph these... maybe a softer fill...

    Cheers!

Totally phenomenal that it can look that good as a one off in the real world.

    Thanks everyone!

Yah Pride, youre right it can be costly but the price is relative. Prices are coming down in a lot of these cases.

The main value is production oriented. The money you save and the time compared to doing a fully traditional sculpt. Bock out and bring to a finish in ZBrush - cast in clay and continue edits then scan again and go back to ZBrush. Not only that but of you are doing a character maquette the freedom of digital and the speed increase more than offsets the additional cost of printing.

Its a whole new world for sculpting : )
