I like the direction of the silver surfer but I don't think it's quite there yet. I like most of the decisions to put the creases where they are but the one place I feel uncomfortable about it is his cheeks. They seem like they stick out too much. you might consider tapering them and have the flow of the crease follow the line this clipping. Also, what may help is that if you ramp it more like the crease directly above the jaw line closer to his ear then it could still give a similar effect and might be a bit more pleasing to the eye. If you smothed out the crease above his smile wrinkles ! it might also lend its self to a more natural flow.
looks like you have the new topology coming along nicley. when its time to convert that to a polymesh play wih the projection settings in the rigging sub menu and the subdiv level in the topology sub menu to get the best detail off the start for your poly mesh. looks realy good.
Its not 3d. But thought I'd share this. I don't get to draw much lately. Its still a wip. Think I may take this into 3d. After I finish the rest. I hope . Any crits or comments are welcomed.
I'm very happy to see also your "hand" work!
Your zbrushing is awesome and your "2d" also!
I'm curious... It is all done in digital? (i.e. no paper sketch and scan?)
Wow, Amazing works!! Both 3d and 2d! Show us more!
And Silver surfer is coming along really well.
One Suggestion on the silver surfer. He would look stronger/ more manly if you make his nose little wider imho.
guti: thank you! Its all digital. I do, or did, draw on paper. I find that digitally I can colour straight away and change things. Its nice
drive2moon: Thank you for taking a look, your thread is awesome. Haha..I'll see what I have lying on my hard drive. Yikes! I see your point. I've already made the previous change mentioned. I may change the pose to. I have a different scene in mind.
Ok I dug up this fella. Hope you like him. I guess his sort of an orc dark elf thing. It was done using a pencil and paper then scanning and colouring.
looking really good, cant wait to see the whole body finished up. for these characters, whats your working schedule like? and are you getting lots of freelance work?
Hey man. Thanks. Work schedule is odd. I have a permanent job. When i finish off my work I do my own, not making money from it. Sometimes Its quiet so I get to do a lot. Other times its intense. After work I'm also busy doing other things with a friend of mine. We're hoping to do our own thing one day. So I grab every chance to do my own stuff. Like shorter lunch breaks etc. Also I have zero life. Curses!
I often wonder what its like going to work everyday and getting to work on cool characters. South Africa's industry is small. But I guess I can't complain.
hows freelance? I've never tried it.
Busy working on the body
p.s got the witchblade redone. Busy detailing that too. work work work work
