    Default new charater : Wendy

    Hello!
Just wanted to share my new character: wendy.
It was not 100% finished but I unfortunatly had to conclude this work faster than I wish.
I wish I could work more on the shader to give better light direction... It's just a tweak version of the clay mat...
Zbrush rendering with final photoshop toutch up.

    High res version:
    WendyHigh.jpg

Separate tool as following: head, tooth, eyes, hairs, body, Tshirt.
    Everything is polypainted.

I love the heads, and the skin. I think the only thing thats lacking is the shirt. The chest area looks a little off. Like shes wearing a sports bra. Also the top of the shirt. It is close together like the shirt is a halter (spelling?) top but it doesnt loook like it is supposed to be. THere is also a odd lump on her right hip area. Looks unnatural.Keep up the great work. I cant wait to see more.

    Nice work, Sebcesoir.

Base the body off of a tennis star? (maybe it's just
the sports bra that's making her reminiscent of Serena Williams)

Small crit: seems that the crown of her head is low. It's
even more apparent with the hairstyle so close over the eyebrows.

Overall, nice stuff for 'not 100%'.

Quick question: Are you able to bake out your MatCaps to your models,
or are these just renders from Z3 with post work?

    Cheers.

*edit* haha...Bryan...we both commented on sports bras.

    Nice work again, Sebcesoir.
And really nice texture work considering it's all polypainting.

Looking great! I thought at one of the Williams sisters when I saw the picture.
The white shirt edge seems a little rugged.

Great work, love the skin tones very realistic, I agree with bryan that the halter top needs a bit mor work. but thats it.

How did you do the hair/ Is this modeled then polypainted or painted in photoshop?

Great work. Can you show us the texture map? I'd like to see how much is texture, how much is sculpting and how much is shader. I still struggle with that balance, where as you have definitely figured it out. Great work again.

    Seb,

Your skin shaders are always exceptional (settings?). The blend from skin to hair is still an illustrator's dodge, but an acceptable and convinving dodge. I do not understand why work like this is not top row. You continue to inspire. Thanks much.

ahh yes, another incredible post by Seb. I was just wondering today about doing eyeballs in ZBrush 3---guess this answers the question decisively!

    Thx for the comments!
Regarding the shader is pretty simple:
    Its the was shader.
Ias you know, its very red end doesn't mix so well with a texture at the begining.
You correct this simply: open the modifiers tab, in the shader seeting: the base color is white.
You have to change it a "soustractive" way: for a skin, choose a red color and click the base slot, it will remove red to the shader and you will get a convincing skintone. You have to play with it to match your texture.
