Hi, I finished another work so i had a little Time to work on the fixated man.

Next Step is drape and other details of Clothing.

I've attached the Brush i've created for the Hair. It's based on the Clay-Brush and uses this Alpha:

    js-medusa09-hairalpha.jpg

    Probalby useful for someone ;-)

Hi, here's the transfixed (lithified? petrified? What's the right word? "stoned" is wrong, i know ;-) ) man with his final Material:

A Note on the previous post: He's turned to stone only seconds ago, so it looks fresh and not weathered in any way. It's a kind of chemical metamorphose i think, so the Stone isn't cracked in any way also ;-)

Just a Detail of the Scene: The Lamp left from the Door. Rendertest in an Environment to ignore ;-)

Looking good John, you have some serious skill here, can't wait to see more!

    EDIT:

What applications are you using for this?

    Hi,

besides ZBrush I'm using Cinema 4D for SD-Modelling (Basemeshes for Example), Scene-Setup and so on; Bodypaint 3D for some Painting-Jobs and sometimes Unwrapping (most Time I use ZBrush-AUV-Tiles) and FryRender for Rendering my Stuff. It's a Perfect Team.

And i use my Scanner and my Digital-Camera for Textures I can't paint. I'm always using my own Stuff. The Texture for blending between Glass and limed/weatherd Glass is painted with Ink on a Paper, then scanned :-)

The Frontdoor looks now used and washed-out, and I placed a Rug in front of it. Nearly the same Workflow for the Rug as for the Bag.

    js-medusa13-rug.jpg

The Room behind the Door need Floortiles, but the next Thing i do is really finally posing Medusa and add Clothes to her, so the next time more ZBrush-Related in this Thread again ;-)

It's good you make all your own textures and materials. I want to get a decent digital camera so I can start texturing my own models like this. Painting your own materials is also very inspirational. I find it fascintating how traditional mediums meet digital mediums.

It's a shame this one didn't make it into the contest. It's all looking amazing so far.

    Cool, good work Strieder!

As a side note about textures I would recommend Genetica Pro, it's a powerful texture generator program of a variety of textures to meet your needs, the presets contained are good enough on their own in it. it also generates effects maps etc which is quite great, also can make normal maps etc
