Making of "Corpse Ride"

As most of you know, the Scared Silly contest was a terrific success. Everyone who participated had a lot of fun and learned a lot in the process! For those of us who couldn’t participate directly, it was still great to watch the many entries unfold.

Today we’re pleased to bring you the second of three “Making Of” articles, written by the winners. This week we present Ralf Stumpf, who’s previous contributions at ZBC have included Scary Toons 1 & 2, and Creature Core.

Congratulations, Ralf, for your terrific entry!

Thanks for sharing that bit about using Zapplink for retaining the model’s position, i was planning on doing something big using markers but now i know better, you saved me much frustration.
Nice to see your render layers too.
Can you explain why it’s important to store a morph target when using the layer brush?

thanks loads for sharing this workflow as this is the food of survival as it is so important to learn from others with this type of thing and learning I am. I am quite interested in why you recreate the topology when the concept is already so good? Is this something that comes quite easy to you now? I have many models and parts that I know need the topology sorting out and well I kinda fear it at the moment as a large job, but none the less I will get into it soon enough. Once again thanks, i really appreciate you style of working.

Argggh! for some reason my email server is marking ZBC as spam and I keep missing updates!

Thanks for sharing your process Ralph. Your attention to detail and unique style is very inspiring. I love to see how much effort goes into your rendering passes. Phew! I really need more practice to get that good.

Well done. A well deserved top 3!

Cheers, Dusty!

Thanks Ralf. Great making of.
I like your rendering and postprocessing method.

WoW very nice!!
