Here is yet another project started, though this one I intend to finish.

This is the start of VR Junkie.

The theme is a man who hates his own life so much, he spends all his time living in Virtual Reality. But to do so is wrecking his own health.

Here is the start of the main character:

Love the knobbly back of the head! Really well observed.

Could look at the upper arm again; seems to be bending up a bit between shoulder and elbow.

Similarly, there is something a bit odd about the thumb volume at its base where it joins the hand.

Hard to see at this res., but you might want to pull the upper eyelid out a bit, thickening it up.

    Like the beanbag boy model.

    Cheers,

    T

Nice sketchbook, dustbin1_uk! The sculpt of your son is really good. Looks really peaceful, and nice render.

Man alive! was it really September since my last update!!!!????

Ok well, just so you know, I have had to take a longish break from ZBrush to do the billion other things in my life.

But the inevitable arrival of ZBrush 4 has sparked the Z bug in me again!

    So here's where I am.

VR Junkie is still going to get done, but is on hold for a time while I finish off some other things.

Craig Thomson (fishadder) and myself are working on a project codenamed "Captain Q". It's an animation made in Blender with the help of ZBrush on the modelling and texturing. This image from Craig says it all I think:

    newq.jpg

This is a really old project that died a while ago, but we both decided that it was worth starting again. So here is the first model for the project:

    W.I.P
    QLatest.jpg

I know he's not anatomically correct, but he is a cartoon character inspired in style of The Incredibles and the comedy value of the old Space Quest games, Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy, Red Dwarf, Futurama, Space Balls, Galaxy Quest and any other Sci Fi comedy out there. You can read more about it on the Blog: www.q.dustyghost.com.

Feel free to laugh at my progress there, as I'm still learning and progress has been slow while I was establishing my workflow.

Another side project is a little game development using BGE (Blender Game Engine) that's just an experiment while I learn game development.

Here is a little ship from the project I started yesterday in my lunch break:

    W.I.P
    shipv1.jpg

Again this is NOT for the Captain Q project, but for another project in game development.

Yeah I know!! None of this is up to the usual standard here at ZBC, but I'm not here to impress, I'm here to learn and have fun!!

Both models have now been exported from Blender to ZBrush and will detail and texture them, hopefully starting tonight.

Stay tuned, if you dare, or if you care!

    Dusty

Well, that's a fair point. Though I think the render I did there might confuse matters a bit.

I did a render of the head and Craig (Fishadder) did a quick paint over for me. This is what we are aiming fore here:

It's a miracle the Lakers don't loose more often. How would you like to have that face watching you at every game?

    Cool drawing, man

Hey Dusty, enjoyed looking through your gallery. Loving virtual guy (unfortunately i had a very vivid image of the texture map for his undies ;p) and Q & his ship are starting to look really great!

Thanks again for the kind message, the model of your son looks cute too
    Will be watching, cheers buddy
