Cool model, the human hand isn't working imho.
To explain: comparing it to the other legs anatomy it shouldn't be able to bend in a way that it does. FOr instance, try bending your own foot in that manner and you'll get the idea. Hope I'm helping

Super Glitcher, scottleroc: You obviously spotted itIts very cool to bring down ultraheavy meshes with Decimation Master to something renderable.
Captain Sensible: thank you!
sgrell: Both applications work very well together and each has its very own strenghts. In fact i just exported the original voxel mesh without any retopo, then decimated it with Decimation Master. Every other mesh decimation tool I have tried, crashed due to the high poly count. This includes meshlab and XSI. With Decimation Master it was processed without hickups and very fast-and the result is absolutely convincing.

Although that welsh beast looks cool too![]()
cherub_rock: Youre absolutely right, the legs are the weakest part imho. I should really work on those.![]()
With the official release of 3DCoat V3.0, i would like to use the opportunity to show some 3DCoat/Zbrush doodles. I really love to use the two together. I have two workflows at the moment:
* for organic meshes:
- Do overall/rough shape with voxels
- Retopo/Auto-Quadrangulation in 3DC
- Sculpting and fine detail/polypaint in Zbrush
- Examples below

* for "hard surface" meshes:
Decimated down from 3mio to 16k!
- Do everything with voxels
- Direct voxel export
- Decimation Master in Zbrush
- Examples below

Decimated down to 1mio
Have a look at the demo here, im sure you will love it:

So . . . I've looked at 3dc and I love that you have found a nice workflow. Isn't 3dc also better at polypainting? What are 3dc renders like then?
Very Cool Erklaerbar - love the designs![]()
Erklaerbar,
Wonderful designs. I love the dragon head. I REALLY like your use of color.
I can't wait to see more!
Dickie
love your work especially
the work "A rather methaphoric interpretation of a neuron:
on page 4.....
... the green sphere is especially great.....was that rendered in Zbrush
what was the material for it.. and the lighting setttings.?![]()
Thanks again
sgrell, 3DC renders are ok, the DOF rocks and its fast. Im just used to ZBrush, same goes for painting.
FoOD, thank you!
Dickie, thanks a lot!
vedanta, thank you. Yes it is a Zbrush render. Sorry to say that its not a free material. It can be found in my signature.
made a better render of the dragon head![]()
EDIT: replaced with final version

the final image is really lovely~~~~~~~~~
I also like this concept and render![]()
WOW!
This is by far some of my favorite abstract works.
You seem to have a quick turn around, how long do these take on average?
